Virgo Models Australia and Virgo Models NZ (collectively “Virgo Models,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operate the website www.virgomodels.com (the “Site”) and related social-media channels, scouting portals and digital services (together, the “Services”). We scout, represent and promote models and social-media talent across Australia and New Zealand and collaborate with affiliated brands and clients worldwide.

2. Scope

This Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information under:

  • Australia: Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

  • New Zealand: Privacy Act 2020 and the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs).

By using our Services, you agree to the practices described below.

3. Information We Collect

Contact & Identity Data Name, postal and email addresses, phone number, date of birth, gender, social-media handles (provided by you).
Application & Model Data Photos, videos, measurements, portfolio links, résumé, personal statements, demographic data (provided by you or your agent).
Usage & Device Data IP address, browser type, pages viewed, device identifiers, location (approx.), log files, cookies and similar technologies (collected automatically).
Marketing Preferences Your consents, preferences and responses to campaigns or surveys (provided by you).

We may combine the above with information we receive from publicly available sources or trusted partners (e.g., modelling platforms, social networks, analytics providers).

4. How We Use Your Information

We process personal information to:

  1. Evaluate and manage applications for representation or collaboration.

  2. Represent, promote and book talent, including compiling portfolios and pitching to brands, casting directors and other agencies.

  3. Share data with affiliated brands and clients who may wish to book or evaluate you (see Section 5).

  4. Provide and improve our Services, develop new features and analyse trends.

  5. Communicate with you about opportunities, updates, events and marketing (you can opt out of marketing at any time).

  6. Administer the Site, perform troubleshooting, detect fraud and ensure security.

  7. Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We rely on your consent, our contractual relationship, our legitimate interests (e.g., running an agency) and/or legal obligations as the lawful bases for processing.

5. Sharing and Disclosure

Affiliated brands, clients and casting partners To review applications, book models and execute campaigns. We may share all application and model data (including photos, measurements and contact details) with these parties.
Service providers IT hosts, analytics vendors, marketing platforms, payment processors and professional advisers who help us operate our business (bound by confidentiality).
Group companies & trusted overseas agencies For global representation, composite cards and portfolio promotion.
Legal & regulatory authorities Where required by law, court order or to protect rights, safety or property.
Business transferees In connection with mergers, acquisitions or asset sales (with safeguards).

We do not sell personal information for unrelated third-party marketing.

6. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in Australia, New Zealand and other countries where our clients, cloud providers or partner agencies are located. Where we transfer data outside your country, we implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual clauses) consistent with APP 8 and IPP 12.

7. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to recognise visitors, analyse traffic, personalise content and measure ads. You can adjust browser settings to refuse cookies, though some features may not work. The Site currently does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals.

8. Security

We employ administrative, technical and physical safeguards (encryption, access controls, staff training) to protect personal information. No internet transmission is completely secure; you provide data at your own risk.

9. Data Retention

  • Applications (unsuccessful): up to 2 years after last contact.

  • Represented models: for the term of representation and 7 years thereafter (longer for imagery kept in our historical archives).

  • Marketing records & analytics: as required for the stated purposes or until you withdraw consent.

10. Children

Our Services are not directed to children under 18. If you are under 18, please do not submit personal information without parental consent. Parents may request deletion of a child’s data via the contact details below.

11. Updates

We may revise this Policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” will change, and significant updates will be highlighted on the Site. Continued use of our Services after changes means you accept the revised Policy.

12. Your Rights

Jurisdiction Key Rights
Australia Access, correction, withdrawal of consent, lodge complaint with the OAIC.
New Zealand Access, correction, deletion, restriction, complaint to the Privacy Commissioner.
